‘Inside the person you know, there is a person you do not know’

I started reading the ‘Beekeeper of Aleppo’ by Christy Lefteri, a captivating book I can’t put down. This Syrian saying resonates strongly with me, as it is one of my coaching mantras.

Sometimes people say, ‘but do you really know that person?’ Or even, ‘do I really know you?’  This always makes me smile. Of course, we share our life story with friends and loved ones, we share our happiness and our worries, we reveal our inner selves. However, even if there is a very deep connection and trust, can people really claim they fully know you if at times you hardly know yourself ?

As a student with many opportunities ahead of you, do you truly know who you will become? How do you know what kind of person you will be once you become a parent? How do you know how you will react when a major life transition affects you?

It is perfectly alright; we are made to adapt and to ride the waves of change. We have to tweak ourselves to learn and adjust. In the end, it’s what makes life interesting. When going through transition, you need your friends, and maybe also a coach 😉, to cheer on the side of the road with lots of love and empathy to allow you to become the person you truly want to be.

Are you going through transition? Do you need a sparring partner? I can equip you with the right tools to help you to cross the bridge towards your next life chapter.
